16 February 2015

The latest release of ACT’s ticketing and payments platform has strengthened Go-Ahead’s passenger ticketing optionsGo -ahead -logo

ACTs ticketing and payments platform is being used by The Go-Ahead Group Plc, one of the UK's largest bus operators with a fleet of around 2,600 buses, and carrying almost two million passengers every day, to deliver its award winning smartcard ‘the key’ ticketing scheme in the UK.

Compliant with ITSO*, Rail Settlement Plan (RSP), Near Field Communications (NFC) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards,  the upgrade enables Go Ahead to introduce new offers such as integrated bus and rail tickets, inter-operable tickets, lifestyle offers and Pay As You Go travel.

Commenting on the upgrade, Enrique Fernandez-Pino, Group IT and Strategy Director at Go-Ahead, said: “The ACT upgrade went smoothly across our bus operations. We are now looking forward to taking advantage of this new release from ACT, which provides all our businesses with the ticketing and payment platform to deliver our customers with greater ticketing choice and convenient payment methods."

The latest customer ticketing and payment platform from ACT provides a real-time, reliable, customer, ticket and payment service. ACT’s commitment to providing the highest standard of service has resulted in many advances in its hosting infrastructure, and provides customers with flexible, secure and reliable remote site communications and hosting. Crucially, as new versions of its customer ticketing and payment platform are released, clients can be upgraded to the most recent version, with minimal impact, enabling them to take advantage of product enhancements as soon as they become available.

*ITSO – The ITSO Specification is a secure technical electronic platform on which smart ticketing schemes can be built. It defines how different smart ticketing systems should 'talk' to each other.
