Southern Railway passengers’ trial new smart card ticketing scheme

Leicester selects ACT for its customer ticketing and CRM delivery project
7 March 2011 - As part of the "One Leicester" project, Leicester County Council contracted ACT to integrate their Customer Management System and managed services to the Council's Oracle CRM system. This has enabled the council residents in Leicester maintain a single point of contact to the council, services, specifically with regards to the on-going application and supply of their smart concessionary travel passes.

Fujitsu extends contract with ACT
2 February 2011 - Fujitu have awarded ACT a further two year contract to provide ITSO back office services including the ACT HOPS and CMS for First ScotRail Ltd. First ScotRail Ltd is part of the FirstGroup and operates domestic passenger trains within Scotland and the cross-border Caledonian Sleeper service to London.
Leicester City Council award HOPS contract to ACT
1 February 2011 - Leicester City Council (LCC) embarks on a smart ticketing program by awarding HOPS contract to ACT. Chosen as one of the 9 major cities targeted for DfT funding to create smart ticketing for their citizens, Leicester City Council needed a HOPS managed service partner to provide the key back office services for their scheme.

The first ITSO 2.1.4 certified Retail POST hits the shop floor
17 August 2010 - Loading electronic travel tickets onto smart cards at the till has now become a reality thanks to the ACT Retail POST, the first ITSO 2.1.4 certified Point of Service Terminal (POST) to hit the high street. ITSO is the national government standard for e-ticketing in the UK. ACT, the leading provider of ticketing systems and services, has today announced successful ITSO 2.1.4 certification of its retail ticketing application called the Retail POST. The Retail POST by ACT provides a touch screen interface with which travel shop staff can load ITSO travel tickets to smart media such as smart cards. Customers can also collect their online ticket and pay as you go travel top-ups from the ACT Retail POST.

1 February 2009 - Bristol City Council selects Wiltshire based ACT to design and deliver a turnkey ITSO compliant concessionary travel solution.
Northamptonshire County Council smart concessionary pass system goes live
1 March 2008 - The Northamptonshire Count Council (NCC) smart concessionary pass system is now live using the ACT HOPS and managed services. NCC was one of the first County Councils to independently finance the upgrade of their bus network to support smart ticketing. The project was launched in October 2010 with NCC supplying over 500 buses with smart ETMs, including their own managed in-house support for the council’s smaller operators.
